AT A GLANCE
On November 18, 2020, the
Maricopa County Ordinance
P-7 – Travel Reduction Program
(TRP Ordinance) was approved by
the Maricopa County Board of
Supervisors. This TRP Ordinance
revision incorporated six substantive
policy statements and removed
redundant language referenced in
A.R.S. §§ 49-581 – 49-593.
On February 2, 2021, the TRP
telework plan was approved as an
alternative to the standard travel
reduction plan. This plan format
promotes continued teleworking in
organizations throughout Maricopa
County by including a new subsidy
for teleworking expenses and
targeted measures for teleworking
organizations.
As of the close of
FY2021, TRP has
transitioned 92.75%
of all participants to
an electronic TRP
Annual Survey. This
shift has prevented
1,075 employers from
generating paper
waste.

and student counts combined with FY2020 reported counts which were lower than expected due
to impacts of COVID-19.

* FY2021 data were calculated
using the most current
Environmental Protection Agency
modeling formulas. FY2020
emissions reductions appear
substantially lower than in FY2021
due to significantly reduced
survey response rates associated
with the COVID-19 TRP variance.
