A public hearing notice was found face down in the ground and when checked to see what it was about it was noted that there was a request to eliminate the requirement of a 25 by 25 foot sight viability triangle as is usually required. The laws were put in place for the protection of the public and I am concerned that the public will not even know about this because of sabotage! Please help keep us safe by making sure we can see traffic coming while turning on to a busy road. While the road Stacy is at the present time not a paved road, once paved the traffic will be moving faster. The hearing notice shows an address of 26523 South 170th way 304-87-415B BA 260013 and shows the name Leonard Navarrete Thank you for protecting us! My wife Kathleen Lenz and I have lived on the property located at 7839 s 170th place from 1978. We were the first residents on the property and road now listed as 170th place. Originally our address was 26421 s Higley, Originally when we moved onto our property, we were totally alone, No other residents. With that said we brought in the road and the power lines. Over the years raising our family here we have witnessed many changes and growth. So needless, to say we are very sensitive to changes to this area. Unfortunately I will be out of town on this day, however we understand there are concerns regarding the north west corner of Stacie and 170th place and Leonard’s fence. We travel this area daily and have absolutely no issues with this corner. My Son, Joseph and his family, my daughter Sarah and her family along with grandson and others express no concerns. During the construction of the Navarrete home, we all discussed egress and regress through this area. Even tho his homes entrance faces west, he was fully open and respectful regarding our road way, access use of construction equipment and equipment. He was open and cooperative with our concerns and questions. We are happy to have leonard and his family as neighbors. The Navarrete family is well respected and good neighbors. To Whom It May Concern, My name is Sarah Delacruz, and I reside at 7849 S. 170th Place, where I have lived for the past 19 years. Prior to purchasing my current home, I lived at 7839 S. 170th Place since childhood. Having lived on 170th Place for more than forty years, I believe I have a strong understanding of our neighborhood and the roadway in question. Access to my home requires traveling on Stacey Road and turning onto 170th Place. My father and brother also own homes on 170th Place, and our family uses this road daily. Before constructing their wall, Mr. and Mrs. Navarrete personally spoke with all homeowners on 170th Place to ensure there were no concerns regarding the project. They made every effort to be respectful neighbors and to address any potential issues before even submitting for permits. To my knowledge, no concerns were raised by any of the residents who regularly use the roadway. I do not believe the wall presents any danger or safety concern. My husband and I have teenage drivers in our home, and we would have been among the first to voice concerns if we believed the wall created a hazard. Additionally, there are eight homes that rely on 170th Place for access, and none of those homeowners expressed concerns or viewed the block wall as unsafe. I respectfully ask that you allow Mr. and Mrs. Navarrete to retain the wall surrounding their property. They acted thoughtfully and responsibly throughout the process, and they have been considerate of their neighbors every step of the way. Thank you for your time and consideration. To whom it may concern, My name is Demetrio Vallejo, and I reside at 26508 S 170th Way in Queen Creek, Arizona. I am writing in support of Leonard Navarrete for his Board of Adjustment hearing scheduled for May 14, 2026. Before the wall was constructed, Leonard personally communicated his plans to me, and since its installation, my family and I have never viewed it as a safety issue or a concern to our household or the community. I have two children who walk to the bus stop daily, and at no point have I observed anything that would suggest the wall poses a danger. If I believed there were any safety risks, I would be the first to raise them. Based on my experience as a nearby resident, I respectfully submit that the wall has not created any negative impact on our property or the surrounding area. Our neighborhood takes pride in maintaining a high standard of appearance and community values. Leonard’s home and property reflect that same commitment. For these reasons, I respectfully hope the board will allow the wall to remain as constructed as it has not created any issues for us and as far as I am aware the community. Very Respectfully, Demetrio Vallejo 619-586-2162 Subject: Safety Concern Regarding Visibility Hazard at 170th Place and Stacey Road Intersection Dear Maricopa County Officials, I am writing regard ing the adjustment hearing for the property located at 26523 S 170th Way in Queen Creek, Arizona. I would like to express my concerns about the traffic visibility and safety issues associated with the corner of 170th Place and Stacey Road . This intersection presents a significant hazard for drivers traveling on or turning onto 170t h Place. The current obstructio n at the corner severely limits visibility to the west, making it difficult for motorists to safely see approaching traffic. Drivers are often forced to edge out farther into the roadway in order to gain visibility, wh ich increases the risk of accidents and creates an unsafe condition for residents and visitors alike. Given the amount of daily traffic and the limited line of sight at this location, I respectfully ask the county to carefully consider the safety implicat ions during the adjustment hearing process. I believe improvements or rest rictions may be necessary to ensure adequate visibility and protect public safety at th is intersection. I wou ld also respectfu lly request the courtesy of remaining anonymous regard ing these comments and concerns. Sincerely, Hello Andrew, Thank you for posting the notice regarding the requested variance to the visibility triangle at 170th Place and Stacey Road. I would like to express my concern regarding this request. With the planned paving improvements to the roadway, vehicle speeds and traffic volume are likely to increase in the future. Because of this, maintaining proper visibility at the intersection becomes even more important for the safety of drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and nearby residents. In my opinion, reducing or obstructing the visibility triangle could create unnecessary safety concerns by limiting a driver's ability to clearly see vehicles entering or traveling along the roadway. I believe restoring the intended visibility standards would better serve the public safety interests of the community. I wou ld also respectfully request that my comments remain anonymous as part of this process if possible. Thank you for your time and consideration regarding this matter.
