RESOLUTION NO. R26-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO AN AMENDMENT OF THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH MARICOPA COUNTY, THE CITIES OF AVONDALE, CHANDLER, PEORIA, SCOTTSDALE, SURPRISE, TEMPE, AND THE TOWN OF GILBERT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CONSORTIUM FOR THREE YEARS TO ADD THE CITY OF GOODYEAR AS A MEMBER. WHEREAS, the Home Investment Partnerships Program (“HOME Program”), authorized under Title II of the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act (42 U.S.C. § 12701 et seq.), provides federal funds to expand the supply of decent, safe, affordable housing for low- income households; and WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) permits units of general local government to form consortia for the purpose of qualifying as a Participating Jurisdiction under the Home Program, pursuant to 24 CFR Part 92; and WHEREAS, the Maricopa Home Consortium has been recognized by HUD as a Home Consortium and has entered into a three-year Consortium Agreement approved by HUD; and WHEREAS, the City of Goodyear desires to join the Consortium and participate in the HOME Program through the Consortium, and has negotiated an amendment to the Consortium Agreement to add The City of Goodyear as a member. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: SECTION 1. The City of Glendale hereby approves participation in the Maricopa Home Consortium and authorizes execution of the Amendment to the Consortium Agreement adding City of Goodyear as a member. SECTION 2. That the City Manager and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute and deliver all documents necessary to effectuate this commitment on behalf of the City of Glendale.
