My name is Summer Palmer, and I am an employed executive professional and a tax-paying
resident of Glendale, Arizona, where | have lived for many years. | am writing to express my
strong opposition to the City’s efforts to revoke the business permit for Holy Smoke Shop,
located at 67th Avenue and Greenway.
The primary reason I frequent Holy Smoke Shop is safety. Unlike many other similar
businesses in the area, this establishment maintains a consistently clean, well-kept, and
comfortable environment. While patronizing other nearby shops I often experienced
unsavory individuals loitering around the premises, asking me for money-creating an
environment that feels unsafe and unwelcoming. Holy Smoke Shop stands out as a business
that prioritizes the wellbeing and security of its customers.
In addition to safety, Holy Smoke Shop offers exceptional customer service and high-quality
products. The owners and employees are professional, respectful, and committed to
maintaining a positive presence in the community. Their commitment to operating
responsibly and ethically is evident in the way they run their business every day.
Revoking their permit would unfairly penalize a business that contributes positively to the
neighborhood while leaving behind others that create the very concerns residents wish to
avoid. Holy Smoke Shop is an asset to our community, and its continued operation directly
benefits people like myself who rely on safe, responsible local businesses.
For these reasons, | strongly urge the City of Glendale to reconsider its decision and allow
Holy Smoke Shop to remain open and serving our neighborhood.
