RESOLUTION NO. R26-35
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE,
MARICOPA
COUNTY,
ARIZONA,
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 2
TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN
MARICOPA COUNTY ADMINISTERED BY ITS HUMAN
SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND CITY OF GLENDALE FOR
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the Maricopa County Human Services Department, Workforce Development
Division provides services to County residents through its Workforce Innovation and Opportunity
Act (WIOA) program (the “Program”); and
WHEREAS, the Program provides various services to County residents including but not
limited to conducting job searches, exploring career opportunities, improving and/or learning new
skills, and matching jobseekers with local employment opportunities to promote long-term stable
employment; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Maricopa County Human Services Department executed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), (contract no. C25-0620) to provide these services at no
cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, the MOU has since been amended to extend the term to March 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the services provided through the Program are consistent with the City’s
goal to support workforce development activities that benefit City residents, and it is deemed in
the best interests of the City and its residents to continue to provide these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GLENDALE as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 4.0 of the MOU is amended to extend the term of the agreement
through June 30, 2026 with all other terms and conditions to remain the same.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk are authorized and
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said this commitment
on behalf of the City of Glendale.
