RESOLUTION
OF
THE
COUNCIL
OF
THE
CITY
OF
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, DIRECTING
AND
ENTERING
INTO
AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENT, 
WITH
THE
MARICOPA
COUNTY
PUBLIC
HEALTH
DEPARTMENT
FOR
HEAT
RELIEF
RESPITE
CENTERS. 
WHEREAS, Maricopa County Public Health Department will provide City of Glendale
with American Rescue Plan Act Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (" ARPA") 
for
two
heat
relief
respite
centers (
the " Project") to principally
serve
people
experiencing
homelessness or other vulnerable populations at risk of suffering from heat -related illness or death; 
and, 
WHEREAS, Maricopa County shall provide the City of Glendale $ 408, 914 for Glendale' s
2024 Heat Relief operations
and $ 408, 914 for Glendale'
s Heat Relief Operations
in 2025 and 2026, 
depending on funding availability. 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
SECTION 1. That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens
thereof that the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Glendale and the Maricopa
County Public Health
Department
for the heat relief respite
centers be entered into, which
agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. 
SECTION 2. That the City Manager and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute
and deliver such agreement on behalf ofthe City of Glendale. 
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of
Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona, this 20h day of March, 2024.
