RESOLUTION NO. R26-31 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF THE FY25 EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) PROGRAM LOCAL FORMULA APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $110,888 FOR THE GLENDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, administers the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program to support state and local criminal justice needs; and WHEREAS, the City of Glendale is eligible to receive a FY25 Local JAG allocation in the amount of $110,888; and WHEREAS, the Glendale Police Department intends to use the FY25 JAG funds to upgrade the Glendale Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) operations through the purchase of high-resolution camera systems, license plate readers, and related technology; and WHEREAS, the JAG Program requires the submission of Certifications and Assurances by the Chief Executive of the Applicant Government, confirming governing body review and compliance with statutory requirements; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Glendale desires to authorize the submission of the FY25 JAG application and, if awarded, to accept and expend the funds in accordance with program requirements. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: SECTION 1. The City Council approves the filing of the FY25 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program Local Formula application in the amount of $110,888. SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to execute the required Certifications and Assurances and all other documents necessary for the grant application.
