RESOLUTION NO. R26-45 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE ENTERING INTO OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN AND AMONG THE ARIZONA FIRE & MEDICAL AUTHORITY, CITY OF AVONDALE, THE CITY OF BUCKEYE, THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE, THE CITY OF GLENDALE, THE CITY OF GOODYEAR, THE CITY OF PEORIA, THE CITY OF SURPRISE, THE CITY OF TOLLESON, THE DAISY MOUNTAIN FIRE AND MEDICAL DISTRICT, AND THE SUN CITY FIRE DISTRICT FOR USE OF FIRE APPARATUS. WHEREAS, the City and Partnering Agencies (Parties’) are authorized and empowered to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement for the provision of services or for joint or cooperative action pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §11-952. The City is also authorized and empowered pursuant to Article 1 Section 3, of the Charter of the City of Glendale; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the above parties to work together for the mutual benefit of the public, each party’s community, and each party’s personnel and students; and WHEREAS, partnering agencies agree to lend and borrow the use of various fire apparatus on an as-needed basis to benefit public safety. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Glendale authorizes the City Manager to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Partnering Agencies for the use of various fire apparatus on an as-needed basis to benefit public safety that will be responsive to the needs of the Parties. Said agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale. SECTION 2. That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute any and all documents necessary to enter into said agreement on behalf of the City of Glendale.
