A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE 
STATE OF ARIZONA FOR THE REHABILITATION OF 
GLENDALE AVENUE FROM LITCHFIELD ROAD TO EL 
MIRAGE 
ROAD 
INTERSECTIONS 
IN 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA COUNTY.  
 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale received federal funding through the Maricopa 
Association of Governments for the rehabilitation of the pavement on Glendale Avenue from 
Litchfield Road to El Mirage Road intersections in Glendale; and 
 
WHEREAS, the State of Arizona through the Arizona Department of Transportation 
(ADOT) will be the lead agency for the project; and 
 
WHEREAS, the project is being funded out of the Maricopa Association of Governments 
(MAG) Arterial Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program (ARRP); and  
 
WHEREAS, the ARRP is competitive grant program funded by regional transportation 
funds (Proposition 400/479); and 
 
WHEREAS, the AARP program provides funding for rebuilding or rehabilitating aging 
arterial streets in the MAG region; and 
 
WHEREAS the rehabilitation of the pavement is needed to maintain the integrity of the 
roadway, increase safety, and promote commerce in the area; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale has agreed to pay for the matching funds for the project; 
and 
 
WHEREAS, the matching funds for the project will be included in the City’s Capital 
Improvement Plan (CIP). 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
thereof that the Intergovernmental Agreement with the State of Arizona for the pavement 
rehabilitation project on Glendale Avenue from Litchfield Road to El Mirage Road, be entered 
into, which agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Glendale.

SECTION 2.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and 
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on 
behalf of the City of Glendale.  
 
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of
