RESOLUTION NO. R26-49  
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
GLENDALE, 
MARICOPA 
COUNTY, 
ARIZONA, 
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ENTERING INTO OF 
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE 
STATE 
OF 
ARIZONA 
FOR 
THE 
WIDENING 
AND 
RECONSTRUCTION OF 67TH AVENUE BETWEEN THE DEER 
VALLY 
AND 
PINNACLE 
PEAK 
INTERSECTION 
IN 
GLENDALE, MARICOPA COUNTY.  
 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale received federal funding through the Maricopa 
Association of Governments for the widening and reconstruction of 67th Avenue between the Deer 
Valley and Pinnacle Peak intersections in Glendale; and 
 
WHEREAS, the State of Arizona through the Arizona Department of Transportation 
(ADOT) will be the lead agency for the project; and 
 
WHEREAS, the project is being funded out of the regional Arterial Widening Program 
(AWP); and 
 
WHEREAS, the addition of the lanes on northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) 67th 
Avenue will allow for system continuity; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Glendale has agreed to pay for the matching funds for the project; 
and 
 
WHEREAS, the matching funds for the project will be included in the City’s Capital 
Improvement Plan (CIP). 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE as follows: 
 
SECTION 1.  That it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Glendale and the citizens 
thereof that the Intergovernmental Agreement with the State of Arizona for the 67th Avenue 
widening project, be entered into, which agreement is now on file in the office of the City Clerk 
of the City of Glendale. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the City Manager or designee and the City Clerk be authorized and 
directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary to effectuate said Agreement on 
behalf of the City of Glendale.
