Dear Administration Team:
It is with joy | watch for activities to begin here to ready the accommodation for the arrival of little
people at the proposed DAY CARE here in Court 8! My awareness of the joys and blessings that will occur
are many. My life experiences can vouch for this, beginning with my seven biological children and from
having the privilege of administering four schools that provided pre-school and day care
accommodations.
Apart from the happiness...the little smiles, the laughter, and the crying to be comforted, as a person
familiar with the Bible, there was that fellow in Israel many years ago Who reminded us. “Let the little
children come to me...”
Yes, there may be crying, but there will be laughter, too.
Yes, there may be more activity in our parking area.
Yes, we may be delayed while a mother loads little people into her car.
| can accept ALL of these:small annoyance in return for all the smiles, laughter, and other joys the
children will bring!
And, wasn’t the remainder of the quote cited above: “...for is such is the kingdom of heaven”?
| say, LET THE HEAVEN BEGIN IN OUR CORNER OF THE WORLD! {

TO ALL THOSE MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE WORKING (AND
HAVE WORKED) TO MAKE BEZOS ACADEMY A REALITY --
THANK YOU
A few years ago, due to health issues, a... forced to give up the
home we built and lived in for twenty-two years. We looked at many places
and both agreed Glencroft was where we wanted to be. an
was our choice and here we are!
All went well until we found out we were right next to a proposed Day Care
Center! I won’t elaborate on this further except to say a very informative
conversation with the CEO of Glencroft calmed any anxieties we may have
had and it became very interesting and exciting to watch it developing.
And what a great idea of having a Day Care Center with a senior
community! Thank you all associated with Bezos Academy for your
thinking of this arrangement. Little children and “grandmas and grandpas”
go together like peanut butter and jelly! I foresee some of us volunteering
to do things with these little ones, playing games, singing, and maybe just
giving them some warm hugs and understanding missing in their lives. And
who will that help the most? Everyone! It’s easy to get depressed and
wonder if you are useful to anyone -well, we all have something to offer and
this may be a great opportunity for us to find out how good life still can be.
But the best part of all this is : number |. Many young children will have a
start in their lives that would not have happened without this opportunity.
And number 2. It is because Bezos Academy will be free of charge not
only to our employees here at Glencroft but to neighboring families who
qualify. What a blessing for these families and their dear little ones!
I’m writing this because we want you to know we appreciate what is being
done as a very loving, very caring and positive move that can and will
benefit all who wll embrace it with open minds and hearts.

I’m thrilled to know that the Bezos Academy will be opening here at Glencroft. I’ve
seen numerous reports on TV of senior communities that have partnered with pre-schools,
and the report always emphasizes the benefit to both the seniors and the kids.
| grew up in a small town in North Dakota with numerous generations of my family
living nearby. It was not unusual to have huge gatherings to celebrate birthdays, weddings,
and holidays. My grandfather passed away when my youngest sister was 5. She didn’t
remember him. She adopted an older gentleman from our church as her grandfather, and
they became very close. In fact, when he passed away, she was living on Guam. She was
very upset that my mother didn’t let her know immediately because she would have flown
home to attend his funeral.
Today, many families are scattered across this country. Many children do not really
know their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Bezos Academy will allow these
children to adopt seniors here as grandparents. Although not related by blood, these
relationships can be very strong and important to both.
As a former teacher, | look forward to the possibility of volunteering to work with the
kids. | also hope we will be able to see them in some activities, such as a Christmas
program presented to the whole campus. | know that many other residents are hoping to
volunteer also.
Pre-school is very expensive and hard to find. Many of our employees will be able to
have their kids here on campus at no cost to them. This will be an added perk to working
here. They will know their kids are safe and nearby.

Dear John,
| hope this letter finds you well. As a resident of Glencroft Community for Senior Living, |
am expressing my enthusiastic support for the proposed addition of a Bezos Academy early
education center to our property.
As a mother of four, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of nine, all of whom live
out of state, | deeply understand the joy and energy that young children bring to life.
Although | don’t have the opportunity to see my family as often as I’d like, having an early
learning center here at Glencroft would fill a meaningful gap for many of us who miss the
company of children. It would be a beautiful way to bridge generations and allow us to
interact with the younger members of our broader community.
I’ve always been an advocate for education, and | think the presence of Bezos Academy
would add tremendous value not only to the children who would attend but also to us as
seniors. The opportunity to engage with and nurture young minds would bring a new level of
joy, connection, and purpose to our lives. There’s something so special about watching a
child learn and grow, and many of us here would relish the chance to contribute to their
early development, even in small ways.
Furthermore, | believe this initiative would strengthen the community atmosphere here at
Glencroft. Hosting a school program would keep us connected to the world outside our
walls and remind us of the power of community support and togetherness. | am confident
that this partnership would be mutually beneficial, enhancing the lives of both the
residents and the children involved.
Thank you for considering this opportunity. | would love to see Glencroft take this exciting
step, and | look forward to seeing how this idea progresses.

Dear John Thorhauer,
I live in and when the information first came out about Glencroft having a day
care school in our court I was a little concerned, but have become
very close friends over the years and she was excited about it so I tried to learn more
about it. Some of my neighbors grumbled a little about having yelling and crying
children in our area but others thought it was a great opportunity to possibility be able
to read stories to the children, or maybe color pictures and such.
I also learned that it was going to benefit some of the employees who work here and
that as certainly a plus. At the price that many of the employees have to pay for day
care, upwards of $1,500.00 a month, this would be a great opportunity for us to hire
more young people.
To me, it seems like this will be a great opportunity for the people living around us and
the residents of Glencroft. Many of our residents don’t get time to be with their
grandchildren and great-grandchildren so this will help them to feel like there are
opportunities to interact with children.
Thank you for this chance to be a special part of this community of Glendale.
