I am writing to inform you that I am submitting a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) application with the City of Glendale to open a smoke and snack store. The proposed location is within an existing shopping center at the northwest corner of 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road, specifically at 13810 N 51st Ave, Glendale, AZ 85306. The space is approximately 1,100 square feet, zoned C-2, and will offer a variety of items including tobacco products, gift items, soft drinks, and snacks. For your reference, I’ve included a copy of the site plan with this letter. Asking for more information on the proposed use and was concerned about the proposed use’s impact on the community. Phil called back on Tuesday, August 26th and left a voicemail. 2. Michelle Camare called on Tuesday, August 26th and left a voicemail. Asking for more information. Phil called back (same day). Michelle asked about previous smoke shop. Asked if it is a proposed marijuana dispensary. Phil stated that a smoke shop did previously exist in this tenant space, however, with the current zoning code, a Conditional Use Permit is required for this proposed use. In addition, Phil stated that this is not a proposed marijuana dispensary.
