Keep Human Trafficking Away from Secluded Acres
Mr. Taylor, I am a resident of secluded acres, a short walk away from where the new APT Suites extended stay hotel is 
planned to be built. This type of building has been known to swell with dangerous individuals constantly from homeless 
drug addicts to sex traffickers and drug dealers. This apartment is not only a short distance from Arrowhead Elementary 
school but also on bell road which is already dealing with increasingly aggressive pan handling. Building this "hotel" 
would be a great way to turn this nice area of arizona into the next slum. As a tax paying resident of the area I am 
expressing my opposition to this hotel and citing is as a main source of my possible leaving of the area, which would no 
doubt replace one working middle class citizen with Human Traffickers, pan handlers, and violent drug addicts. Like a 
Californian Hydra.

Recently, I found out that the City of Glendale was planning to put an Extended Stay Type Hotel at the end of 73 Ave 
where I live in the same area.  This is a very nice quiet neighborhood where lots of families with little children and a lot of 
elderly people live.  These are million dollar homes and the crime is low.  We are able to go for walks, feel safe, go to the 
mall, and not worry about drug dealers or being mugged.  This new development would change all of this.  The 
Arrowhead mall is a nice place to go shopping without worrying about the type of people you will run into, all of this would 
change.  It is also, one of the only malls left that is a safe place for people to go shopping.  Please keep our neighborhood 
safe!!!  Don't let this happen!

To whom this may concern, 
 
I am a former Glendale Police officer and city resident and was considering returning to 
Glendale:  unƟl I learned of an extended‐stay hotel being planned for 7300 W. Camino San 
Xavier.  Having spent my enƟre life in law enforcement, much of it enforcing narcoƟcs laws, I 
was greatly alarmed about this development.   
 
My own experience with faciliƟes like that being planned tells me that Glendale’s city 
administraƟon is completely oblivious to the hazards of such a development – especially in

that area.  The Arrowhead Mall and other booming commercial enterprises will be negaƟvely 
affected by the placement of an extended‐stay facility and will, over Ɵme, reduce tax revenue 
as the area begins to decline.   
 
One need only look at what happened with Metro Center aŌer similar high‐occupancy and 
extended‐stay faciliƟes were constructed around it.  If this project proceeds, I predict that the 
Glendale Police and Fire Departments will require addiƟonal resources to address the 
increased crime and calls‐for‐service that will no doubt be generated in that area.  DiverƟng 
tax dollars from further community improvement to addressing increased criminal behavior.  
 
I recently moved from Los Angeles and was looking forward to reestablishing my residence in 
the very area of the planned extended‐stay facility.   Unfortunately, I am now reconsidering 
my decision to return to Glendale and will encourage my many friends and family in that area 
to do likewise ahead of the certain impact on that area’s property values.
