Basha, PE, PTOE, Summit Land Management Kayla Bertoldo RE: Traffic Statement for Proposed Fry’s Fuel Center in Glendale, Arizona PROPERTY Fry’s intends to build a Fuel Center at the southwest corner of the 67th Avenue and Montebello Avenue intersection in Glendale, Arizona. The proposed Fuel Center will have a 240-square foot kiosk and 12 fueling stations on approximately 1.4 acres. Figure 1 provides an aerial photograph of the general project vicinity. Basha, PE, PTOE 480.505.3931 PBasha@SummitLandMgmt.com Figure 4: Existing and Proposed Accesses TRIP GENERATION The estimated trip generation for the proposed Fry’s Fuel Center was determined through the procedures and data contained within the Institute of Transportation Engineers Trip Generation Manual, 11th Edition, published in 2021. This document provides traffic volume data from existing developments throughout the United States and Canada, from 1980 through 2021, that can be utilized to estimate trips from proposed developments. The traffic data are provided for 179 land use categories separated into 10 major land use categories. The estimated traffic volume is dependent upon independent variables defined by the characteristics and size of each land use category. Data are typically provided for five (5) weekday time periods and four (4) weekend time periods. This category has 2 to 20 fueling stations with less than 2,000 square feet of building area. Table 1 provides the estimated trip generation, by entering and exiting traffic for the proposed Fry’s Fuel Center. Table 1: Estimated Trip Generation Summary for Proposed Fry’s Fuel Center The Fry’s Fuel Center is estimated to generate maximum traffic volumes of 2,064 vehicles-per-day,with 87 entering vehicles-per-hour, and 86 exiting vehicles-per-hour. The Attachment provides the complete trip generation calculations. The fuel deliveries are estimated to be every other day at approximately 5:00 AM.
