Page 1 PLANNING COMMISSION WORKSHOP MINUTES GLENDALE CIVIC CENTER 5750 W. GLENN DRIVE GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301 APRIL 1, 2021 5:00 P.M. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Crow called the meeting to order at approximately 5:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Commissioners Present: Commissioners J. Crow (arrived at 6:03pm), Nowakowski, Wilfong, Cole, and Vice Chairperson Nyberg, and Chairperson Crow were present. The Commission seat for the Sahuaro District remains vacant. City Staff Present: Jim Gruber, Chief Deputy City Attorney, David Richert, Interim Planning Administrator, Jamsheed Mehta, Development Services Director, Tabitha Perry, Executive Officer, Special Projects, and Diana Figueroa, Recording Secretary. ITEM Chairperson Crow called for the item. 1. MOTION TO ENTER INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION A motion was made by Commissioner Wilfong to enter into Executive Session. Vice Chairperson Nyberg seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. The Commission entered into Executive Session at 5:02pm. The Commission returned from Executive Session at 6:10pm. 2. REQUEST TO INITIATE A REZONING APPLICATION TO AMEND THE CATLIN COURT DISTRICT PAD (PLANNED AREA DEVELOPMENT) – Tabitha Perry, Executive Officer, Special Projects Ms. Perry made staff’s presentation stating this is a request for the Planning Commission to initiate a Rezoning Application to amend the Catlin Court District PAD (Planned Area Development). Questions from the Commission were addressed by city staff. The Commission decided and agreed this item needs further discussion before they can initiate a Rezoning Application. Commissioner Wilfong said he would like to see City staff contact and engage the residents of the Catlin Court area and come up with a plan. Page 2 The Request was not initiated at this time by the Planning Commission. 3. NEXT MEETING The next regular Workshop of the Planning Commission is scheduled for Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 5:00 p.m., at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 West Glenn Drive, Glendale, Arizona, 85301. ADJOURNMENT With no further business, the Chairperson called for a motion to adjourn. Vice Chairperson Nyberg made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Cole seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:11pm.
