TO 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT 
BETWEEN 
MARICOPA COUNTY 
ADMINISTERED BY ITS 
HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT 
AND  
EAST VALLEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY DISTRICT 401 
 
 
I. 
Maricopa County (“County”) administered by its Human Services Department 
(“Department”), and East Valley Institute of Technology District #401 (“EVIT”) fully 
executed a financial Intergovernmental Agreement (Agreement) on or about August 21, 
2024. The term of the Agreement is through December 31, 2024. The purpose of the 
Agreement is to support the establishment of HopeTech, EVIT’s on-site facility for young 
adults transitioning out of the foster care system. The County provided EVIT with $150,000 
in Community Solutions Funds (CSF). EVIT and the County are collectively referred to as 
the “Parties” and individually as a “Party.” 
 
II. 
The Parties now agree to enter this Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement as follows: 
 
A. 
To extend the Term of the Agreement from December 31, 2024, through 
December 31, 2025. 
 
B. 
The funding for the Agreement will remain unchanged. 
 
III. 
Section II above contains all the changes to the Agreement made by this Amendment No. 
1. The Agreement is amended to incorporate the changes contained in this Amendment 
No. 1. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement remain in full force and effect as 
executed by the Parties. This Amendment No. 1 is subject to and incorporates the 
provisions of A.R.S. § 38-511. 
 
IV. 
The Parties have authorized the undersigned to execute this Amendment No. 1 on their 
behalf and it shall be effective upon approval and signature by both Parties.
