A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, DECLARING
A PORTION OF A ROAD ALIGNMENT INTO THE COUNTY ROAD SYSTEM TO AUTHORIZE
ABANDONMENT OF THAT PORTION OF ROAD WHICH IS NOT IN A PLATTED SUBDIVISION OR HAS
NOT BEEN DESIGNATED A ROADWAY PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 28-7201(4) AND ABANDONING A
PORTION OF A SAID ROAD ALIGNMENT PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 28-7214.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, TO ALLOW
ABANDONMENTOF A PORTION OF A ROAD ALIGNMENT PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 28-7214.
WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 28-6701(A) authorizes a county board of supervisors to establish, alter or
abandon a highway in the county and other legal subdivisions and acquire real property for those
purposes by purchase, donation, dedication, condemnation, or other lawful means; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-6701(B), the County Engineer has recommended that
a portion of a certain road alignment be designated a county highway and that the Board resolve to declare
it into the county road system; The legal description is described to wit:

A portion of that easement as described in 1974-0169287, Maricopa County Recorder (MCR), situate in
Section 29, Township 2 South, Range 5 East of the Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian, Maricopa
County, Arizona;
EXCEPT the East 55 feet thereof;
ALSO EXCEPT that portion previously abandoned in 1991-0342196 MCR;
ALSO EXCEPT the following described parcel:
A parcel of land being part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 2 South, Range 5 East of
the Gila and Salt River Meridian, Maricopa County, Arizona, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northeast Quarter Corner of said Section 29;
THENCE SOUTH 00° 26' 49" EAST, along the East line, for a distance of 33.00 feet;
THENCE SOUTH 89° 10' 28" WEST, for a distance of 70.00 feet;
THENCE NORTH 00° 26' 49" WEST, for a distance of 33.00 feet;
THENCE NORTH 89° 10' 28" EAST, along the North line, for a distance of 70.00 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
The above described area of extinguishment contains 3,795 square feet or 0.0872 acres, more or less.
General Vicinity: W Chandler Heights Rd and S Alma School Rd. Supervisory District No. 1.
A plat or map of such road, is attached; and

WHEREAS, to facilitate abandonment of portions of right of way held by the County as easement,
which are not necessary for public purposes, the right of way must be open and declared as a public
highway; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors that its
Chairman execute this Resolution evidencing the determination by the Board that the portion of the road
alignment that is held by easement be open and declared to be a public highway and is declared into the
county road system pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-6701 and that all of the highway identified herein is hereby
abandoned pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-7214; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board record this Resolution in the Office of the
Maricopa County Recorder to provide public notice of the abandonment of such road pursuant to A.R.S. §
28-6701.
