Civic Square Goodyear, AZ 85395 Monday, June 8, 2026 Meeting Minutes Immediately following the City Council Regular Meeting CALL TO ORDER Mayor Pizzillo called the Special Meeting to order at 6:46 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Joe Pizzillo; Vice Mayor Brannon Hampton; Councilmember Laura Kaino; Councilwoman Vicki Gillis; Councilmember Benita Beckles; Councilmember Trey Terry Absent: Councilmember Wally Campbell Staff Present: City Manager Bryan Langley; City Attorney Roric Massey; City Clerk Jasmine Pernicano MOTION BY Councilmember Trey Terry, SECONDED BY Vice Mayor Brannon Hampton to EXCUSE Councilmember Campbell. The motion carried as follows: AYE: Mayor Joe Pizzillo, Vice Mayor Brannon Hampton, Councilmember Laura Kaino, Councilwoman Vicki Gillis, Councilmember Benita Beckles, Councilmember Trey Terry Passed - Unanimously BUSINESS 1. FINAL ADOPTION OF THE FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2027 BUDGET Jasmine Pernicano, City Clerk, read Resolution No. 2026-2525 by title only. MOTION BY Councilmember Trey Terry, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2026-2525 DETERMINING AND ADOPTING THE FINAL ESTIMATES OF PROPOSED REVENUES AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE CITY OF GOODYEAR FOR FY2027 BEGINNING JULY 1, 2026, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2027 AND ADOPTING EXPENDITURES FOR ADMINISTRATIVE AWARD FOR FY2027. The motion carried as follows: AYE: Mayor Joe Pizzillo, Vice Mayor Brannon Hampton, Councilmember Laura Kaino, Councilwoman Vicki Gillis, Councilmember Benita Beckles, Councilmember Trey Terry Passed - Unanimously 1 EXECUTIVE SESSION A VOTE MAY BE HELD TO CALL AN EXECUTIVE SESSION FOR THE FOLLOWING: 2. Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(3) & (4): For legal advice and consultation and to consider its position and to provide instruction/direction to City Attorney and City Manager regarding city's position in connection with contracts that are the subject of negotiations with the Cleveland Guardians. 3. Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(3) & (4): For legal advice and consultation and to consider its position and to provide instruction/direction to City Attorney and City Manager regarding city's position in connection with contracts that are the subject of negotiations regarding Project Green. MOTION BY Councilmember Trey Terry, SECONDED BY Councilmember Benita Beckles to CONVENE an Executive Session.
