Re: Election Cancellation 
 
Dear Ms. Garza: 
 
Please add to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors’ next meeting consent agenda the Tonto 
Hills Domestic Water Improvement District’s request for election cancellation. Pursuant to ARS  
48-1012(E) and 16-401(A), if the total number of persons who file is less than or equal to the 
number of positions to be filled, the Board of Supervisors may cancel the election and appoint the 
person or persons who filed proper paperwork. 
 
On June 17, 2024, the Board of Supervisors approved a mail ballot election for the Tonto Hills 
Domestic Water Improvement District.  Subsequently, in the prescribed time periods, the District 
published Call of Election notices.  Two qualified nominees submitted the required documentation 
for the two open positions. 
 
In addition to cancelling the election, we request the Board of Supervisors approve the appointment 
of the nominees. The nominees are Mark Laliberte and George Drazek. The terms will run from 
January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028.
