Maricopa County Human Services Department Early Education Division Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Competitive Application Summary HHS-2020-ACF-OHS-HP-1852 Program Overview The Maricopa County Human Services Department – Early Education Division Head Start Program is submitting a grant application to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)/Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Head Start (OHS), Grant No. HHS-2020-ACF-OHS-HP-1852. The Head Start Program is requesting $1,882,836 for the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) project to improve the quality care and education to children ages from birth to age three, in regulated center-based child care may experience and to expand existing EHS center-based services for children’s whose parents are enrolled in school or a job training program and experiencing poverty. The EHS-CCP project is seeking funding for all of Maricopa County, excluding the City of Phoenix and will direct grant resources to areas of the County in greatest need and which will maximize community impact in those areas. The grant requires a Non-Federal Share Match and is estimated to be $470,409, which will be achieved through In-kind contributions of goods and services directly benefiting the program. The total Project activity funds are anticipated to be $1,882,836 grant funds and $470,409 NFS for a total project amount of $2,353,245.
