Subject: Objection to KW Cross Dock facility; 1000"s of trucks will be 30 feet from my back yard. See photo.
Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2020 3:28:05 PM

Dear Mr. Watkins,

My husband and I are new additions to your county. After 29 years of service in the United
States Air Force, we decided to retire and be a part of this lovely, west valley area and
community.

We purchased our retirement house in Litchfield Park. Please note that my back yard will be
30 feet away from the thousands of semi-trucks that are proposed to drive down Camelback
Road. Additionally, those trucks will be about 130ish feet from my master bedroom. Semi-
trucks are very noisy, between air breaks and acceleration, I will never find piece in my
backyard or in my home. That constant noice will make my home untenable and inhabitable.
Please imagine the trucks passing so close to your bedroom, you can through a ball and hit
them. We are that close, along with many others who purchased in neighborhoods along
Camelback Rd.

I want to be part of the grow and prosperity of the west valley, but feel allowing the KW Cross
Dock facility to be built here is done at the expense of those already here. Please explain to
me how I might stand to listen to the constant loud semi-truck noise, almost every minute of
every day. How am supposed to sleep at night? How am I in supposed to find some quiet on
the weekends? How am I supposed to enjoy sitting in my back yard within approx. 30 feet
from those trucks? I beg of you, please route those trucks through industrial areas and not our
neighborhoods.

Below is a picture of me standing in my lovely backyard. The road behind me is Camelback,
near the Litchfield Rd intersection.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Warm Regards, Kristie

ARE YOU KIDDING? You are taking away that beautiful green piece of land to build a
trucking facility and thereby INCREASE traffic on Camelback? WHY? It is peaceful here
and beautiful and houses are escalating in value. You will completely DEvalue our home and

others.
If I have to I'll sit on your doorstep until you reneg on this. Its preposterous during these
disturbing times when we are home bound to even bring this up. My husband and I signed

the petition.
You should be ASHAMED of yourself selling out like that. Do it out in the hinterlands
where there are no houses and nothing around. We allhave HOMES here

1 am opposed to the proposed to the KW Cross Dock Facility being proposed for the site of the
Falcon Golf Course. A facility of that size and commanding that much semi truck traffic does
not belong that close to residential areas. The property is within 500 feet of a residential area.
This is a quality of life issue as well as a traffic issue. Travel on Camelback between Litchfield

Subject: OPPOSED: Proposed Trucking Facility at Falcon Golf Course
Date: Sunday, April 19, 2020 4:41:32 PM

Dear Mr. Watkins and Mr. Hickman:

Please do not damage the West Valley, Litchfield Park & Goodyear areas, with the development of
the KW Cross Dock Facility on Camelback at the prior Falcon Golf Course.

The West Valley has worked hard to become a tourist destination benefiting the whole Valley
(Wes he Cardinals Stadium, Spring Training Baseball o round Camelback, Luke Air
Force Base’s Air Show, Wigwam Resort, Wildlife World Zoo, White Tanks, etc.). A densely trafficked
Cross Dock Facility on Camelback west of Litchfield will not only damage the sleepy ambience that
makes these venues comfortable and popular, but they will seriously damage local housing values,
and create noise and pollution unsuitable to suburban living.

[We live on Indian School Road near 156'" Avenue and we have already heard and seen many more
semis over the past year on both Indian School and Camelback because of the 303 Freeway.
While we believe the 303 is a net benefit, it has clearly impacted local roads, traffic and noise

levels. This would only get worse with a cross-dock facility.]

By the language of the County’s own Long Range Plan Development & Vision (online), your goal is
to “create strong and vibrant communities within Maricopa County by encouraging orderly
development while creating a healthy environment and a healthy economy.” Surely the addition of
a cross dock facility precludes just such a healthy suburban environment and could restrain the
pre-existing attributes of the economy in the West Valley.

This actually sounds like a zoning mistake the City of Mesa would make. Please do not advance or
approve the KW Cross Dock Facility project. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Linda Lake

To Whom it may concern,

It has been brought to my attention that there is a plan to put in a Cross Dock on Camelback and 152nd where the
Falcon Golf Course currently resides. I am very opposed to this plan. I have lived in the Palm Valley phase 5 sub
division for 12 years and did not move here to live in an industrial park. With the industrial developments to the
west of us it is already difficult to make a left hand turn out of my own neighborhood (onto camelback). The traffic
noise is already loud and difficult to open windows to sleep at night. The roads are now sub par with pot holes from
the semi trucks that currently travel down camelback road. Not to mention the falcon golf course is a place the
residents enjoy utilizing. I ask you please do NOT approve of this build. Please take note of the residents concerns.

Thank you,

| am confused at how something like this can even be up for consideration, what an absolutely awful
idea.

There is a beautiful, low cost golf course, a race track and really nice neighborhood nearby, why in
the world would someone want to ruin this pristine environment for a monstrosity like a a cross
dock facility with all the ugliness and increased traffic. Who comes up with this stuff?? There are so
many other empty spaces down near the airport and Yuma Rd. ; why propose putting this in a
neighborhood? Sometimes it feels like there are people that just want to poke a hornets nest. Well,
| hope whoever is behind this terrible idea gets stung.

Date: Tuesday, April 21, 2020 11:22:45 AM
Mr. Watkins,

| am writing on behalf of the Board of Directors of Palm Valley Phase V Community Association to express their
concerns regarding the proposed Cross Dock Facility. Despite the direct negative impact of this proposed facility on
the Association and its membership we were only notified of the proposal within the last few weeks, and that was by
Goodyear. We have yet to receive any notification from the County. This is not in compliance with the County's
Citizen Review Process for MCPs as the Association should have been included in the Public Participation Plan. We
support and agree with the comments made by Litchfield Park Mayor Schoaf ion his letter dated April 20, 2020.
Additionally, we are concerned about the increased traffic throughout our residential streets as drivers try to avoid
the congestion on Camelback. We too strongly protest and object to the approval of the application of the MCP and
the Plan of Development.

Please also consider possible danger to Luke Airforce Base. We have played golf at Falcon and you can
see the pilots when they take off from one of the back holes. Why would access to trucks be allowed so

close to the base.

Thank you for your consideration.

We believe the zoning of the lot mentioned in the case humber above should not be changed to
commercial. Currently that land is a peaceful golf course which adds to the quality of our
lives. Having a cross dock will interfere with our peace and out traffic on on already crowded
two lane section of Camelback Road.

Please consider the neighbors wishes.

I would like to urge you to deny acceptance of the above-mentioned case number. If
passed, it will have an adverse affect the town of Litchfield Park.

Camelback Rd. west of Litchfield Rd. narrows to only 2 lanes and there are not any plans by
Goodyear to widen it. Traffic backs up on Camelback Rd. In the afternoons and would be
further impacted by the additional traffic created by this project. There is considerable
traffic passing through Litchfield Rd. as well as Camelback Rd. and there has not been a
traffic analysis of traffic passing through those streets.

This project will significantly impact the city of Litchfield Park and I urge you to deny the
permit at your up-coming meeting.
