RESOLUTION Financial Disclosure Standards and Form WHEREAS, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (Board) had previously addressed financial disclosure standards for Maricopa County elected officials in a Resolution dated April 11, 2018, and prescribed the form to be used by Maricopa County local public officers for completing the financial disclosure statement; and WHEREAS, the 52nd Legislature, Second Regular Session, enacted HB 2429 (Chapter 196, Laws of Arizona 2016), amending sections A.R.S. §38-541, and A.R.S. §38-542 (since renumbered to §18-444), which revised the statutory guidelines for standards for financial disclosure statements; and WHEREAS, the Arizona Secretary of State financial disclosure form is essentially the same as the Maricopa County adopted form; and WHEREAS, the Board now desires to rescind any and all previously Board-approved Maricopa County financial disclosure statement forms; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors does hereby: 1. Rescind the Financial Disclosure form approved on April 11, 2018. 2. Adopt the Arizona Secretary of State’s Financial Disclosure form as revised December 17, 2019, and as will be amended from time to time by the Arizona Secretary of State. Adoption is effective June 10, 2020. 3. Prescribe that the Arizona Secretary of State Financial Disclosure form shall be used by Maricopa County local public officers and as defined in A.R.S. §38-541, and candidates for local public office. For the purposes of this form, Public Officer and Local Public Officer are synonymous. 4. Direct the Clerk of the Board to make a copy of the new Financial Disclosure form available to all Maricopa County local public officers and candidates for local public office. 5. Direct that local public officers’ completed forms shall be filed with the Maricopa County Clerk’s Office or filed with the Recorder’s/Elections Office for candidates for local public office.
