Mr. John Lewis,
We would like to request that you authorize on behalf of Maricopa County for the International
Genomics Consortium ("IGC") to receive a ninety (90) day extension to submit our audited
financial statement in compliance with the Agreements, Section 7 item (g) pursuant to the
Maricopa Funding Agreement; and assessment of IGC's impact in Maricopa County as well as a
plan to augment, lessen or eliminate the future funding from Maricopa County in compliance
with the Agreements, Item 3 (Amendment of Sections 5 — County Funding Commitment), and
Item 4 (Amendment of Section 6— Prerequisites to Disbursement of County Funding) pursuant
to the Third Amendment to Economic Development Funding Agreement (C-18-03-008-1-03), as
approved by the Board of Supervisors on June 7, 2017.
IGC has historically always been provided authorization for an additional 90-days to
accommodate the standard time required to complete a comprehensive audit for a non-profit and
in this instance, we also appreciate the 90-day extension due to some delays related to COVID-
19. We are still on target for our audit with 1GC's auditors scheduled now to perform their field
work this April, with the anticipated financial statement issuance date of June 30, 2020.
As we transition our research goals and projects to include efforts in early and accurate diagnosis
and providing access to our biorepository, the support by Maricopa County is critical to
furthering our mission and to supporting public health.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Sincerely,
V.
