Jefferson, 10th Floor Phoenix, AZ 85003 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County, Arizona convened in Special Emergency Session at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Friday, March 13, 2020, in the Supervisors’ Conference Room, 301 W. Jefferson, 10th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003, with the following members present: Clint Hickman, Chairman, District 4; Jack Sellers, Vice Chairman, District 1; Steve Chucri, District 2 (entered late); Bill Gates, District 3; and Steve Gallardo, District 5. Also present: Fran McCarroll, Clerk of the Board; Joy Rich, County Manager and Andrea Cummings, Legal Counsel. Minutes compiled by Lori Medaris, Minutes Coordinator. Votes of the Members will be recorded as follows: aye-nay- absent-abstain. 1. EXECUTIVE SESSION Vote to convene in Executive Session to consider the items on the Special Executive Agenda dated March 13, 2020, for Board of Supervisors and relevant Special Districts pursuant to the statutory authority listed for each item. Motion to approve by Supervisor Gates, seconded by Supervisor Sellers Ayes: Sellers, Gates, Hickman, Gallardo Absent: Chucri ~ Supervisor Chucri entered the meeting after the vote was taken ~ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OPEN SESSION 2. UPDATE OF ELECTION DAY PLANNING IN LIGHT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC Discussion of the effect the COVID-19 pandemic is having on Election Day planning, including a diminishing number of poll workers able to work at polling places, and the closure of a number of polling location. The Democratic Presidential Preference election is scheduled for March 17, 2020.
