WHEREAS, ARIZ. REV. STAT. § 9-471.02 provides a

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Avondale 
County, Arizona ("Maricopa") a portion of right-of-

SECTION 2/The Deannexation Area is hereby deannexed from the corporate boundaries 
of Avondale, cont/gent upon the fulfillment of the conditions of ARIZ. REV. STAT. § 9-471.02. 
SECT N3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a copy of this 
Ordinance ith the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors with a request that the Board of 
Superviso set a hearing date as set forth in ARIZ. REV. STAT. § 9-471.02 (D).

SECTION 4. If any provision of this Ordinance is for any reason held by any court of 
competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, such provision or portion hereof shall be deemed 
separate, distinct and independent of all other provisions and such holding shall not affect the 
validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. 
SECTION 5. The Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney are hereby 
authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this 
Ordinance.

A portion of land being situated within the Northeast Quarter of Section 30, 
Township 1 North, Range 1 East of the Gila and Salt River Meridian, Maricopa 
County, Arizona, being more particularly described as follows: 
COMMENCING at a found brass cap in hand hole accepted as the Northeast 
corner of said Section 30 from which a found brass cap in hand hole accepted as 
the North Quarter corner thereof bears South 89°1239" West, 2599.41 feet; 
Thence South 89°12'39" West, 33.00 feet along the north line of said Northeast

ORDINANCE NO. 1711-1219 
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AVONDALE, 
ARIZONA, DECREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF 
AVONDALE BY DEANNEXING A PORTION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY, 
GENERALLY LOCATED ALONG 107TH AVENUE SOUTH OF BROADWAY 
ROAD AND NORTH OF ROESER ROAD. 
WHEREAS, ARIZ. REV. STAT. § 9-471.03 (C) provides a method for a city or town to 
return territory or public right-of-way to a county; and 
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Avondale ("Avondale") to deannex to Maricopa 
County, Arizona ("Maricopa") a portion of right-of-way within Avondale's corporate limits, 
generally located along 107 th Avenue, south of Broadway Road and north of Roeser Road, as more 
particularly described and depicted on Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by 
reference (the "Deannexation Area"); and 
WHEREAS, said Deannexation Area is contiguous to the corporate limits of Maricopa 
County; and 
WHEREAS, the Deannexation Area is comprised entirely of right-of-way, and Maricopa 
shall provide the adjacent real property owners with such notice as required by ARIZ. REV. STAT. 
§ 9-471.03(F). 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
AVONDALE as follows: 
SECTION 1. The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein. 
SECTION 2. The Deannexation Area is hereby deannexed from the corporate boundaries 
of Avondale, contingent upon the fulfillment of the conditions of ARIZ. REV. STAT. § 9-471.03. 
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a copy of this 
Ordinance with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors with a request that the Board of 
Supervisors set a hearing date as set forth in ARIZ. REV. STAT. § 9-471.03.
