RESOLUTION \ \ 7 \ Y A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MESA, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, ENDORSING THE CREATION OF THE DON JO ACRES IRRIGATION WATER DELIVERY DISTRICT. WHEREAS, certain landowners within the Don Jo Acres Subdivision, which is located within the City of Mesa and generally bounded by W. 7th Street on the north, W. University Drive on the south, N. Alma School Road on the west, and N. Westwood on the east, desire to create an irrigation water delivery district to be known as the Don Jo Acres Irrigation Water Delivery District; and WHEREAS, A.RS. ยง 48-261(E) provides that if a proposed irrigation water delivery district would include property located within an incorporated city or town, then the board of supervisors of the county in which the proposed district is to be located shall approve the creation and authorize circulation of petitions for the formation of the district only if the governing body of the city or town has by ordinance or resolution endorsed such creation; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Mesa has weighed and considered the merits and potential impacts of the creation of the proposed irrigation water delivery district. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mesa, as follows: Section 1: The City Council hereby endorses the creation of the Don Jo Acres Irrigation Water Delivery District. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Mesa, Arizona, this 23rd day of August, 2021.
