Res 2636 Amendment to Maricopa County Superior Court IGA for Jury Services 04 15 26

RESOLUTION NO. 2636 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TOLLESON, 
ARIZONA, APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TOLLESON, ARIZONA, ON BEHALF OF ITS 
MUNICIPAL COURT, AND THE STATE OF ARIZONA, ON BEHALF OF THE SUPERIOR 
COURT OF ARIZONA, IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF MARICOPA, RELATING TO 
JURY SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE AMENDMENT. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson (“City”), on behalf of its Municipal Court, previously 
entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the State of Arizona, on behalf of the 
Superior Court of Arizona in and for Maricopa County, for jury services, approved by Resolution 
No. 2557, with a current term through June 30, 2026; and 
 
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the Agreement to renew the term through June 
30, 2028, and update certain cost provisions, including fees for virtual private network (VPN) 
services and adjustments to the cost per jury summons. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TOLLESON, ARIZONA, as follows: 
 
Section 1. The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein. 
 
Section 2. The Amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of 
Tolleson, on behalf of its Municipal Court, and the State of Arizona, on behalf of the Superior 
Court of Arizona in and for Maricopa County, relating to jury services, is hereby approved in 
substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference. 
 
Section 3.  The Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney are hereby authorized 
and directed to take all steps necessary to cause the execution and delivery of this 
Intergovernmental Agreement and to take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent 
of this Resolution.

AMENDMENT
TO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT 
FOR JURY SERVICES 
On or about June 12, 2024, the City of Tolleson, City of  Tolleson Municipal Court, and 
the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County entered into an intergovernmental agreement for Jury 
Services (“IGA”).  The initial term of the agreement is through June 30, 2026.
The City of Tolleson Municipal Court and the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County agreed to 
amend paragraph 6 of the IGA as follows, with the additional term in capital letters: 
If the City of Tolleson Municipal Court requires any virtual private network (VPN) services (also 
known as RAS accounts), the City of Tolleson Municipal Court shall be charged a set up charge of 
$50.00 per user, and a monthly charge of $8.00 per user.  The fee for services rendered by Superior Court 
to the City of Tolleson Municipal Court shall be payable on or after July 1st, within 30 days of receipt of 
billing, for services rendered during the previous 12-month period. Each party will establish and maintain 
its own budget according to its established rules and procedures. 
This Amendment renews the Jury Services IGA for the City of Tolleson  Municipal Court for an 
additional two-year term, from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028, with the terms and conditions of 
the IGA entered on or about June 12, 2024.
Also in accordance with Paragraph 4 of the IGA, the Superior Court may increase the cost 
per summons at the time of renewal to reflect an increase in actual costs. Effective July 1, 2027, the 
cost per summons will be $4.35. All other costs shall remain the same. 
All other provisions of the IGA shall remain in their entirety.
