Native American Heritage Month 
 
November 2025 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson recognizes that Native Americans were the first inhabitants of 
the lands that now constitute the United States of America, and their history is integral to the 
nation’s story; and 
 
WHEREAS, November has been designated as Native American Heritage Month, a time to 
celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of Native peoples and to 
acknowledge their important contributions to our communities, state, and nation; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson honors the enduring spirit, wisdom, and resilience of Native 
Americans, who continue to enrich our community through leadership, art, education, 
environmental stewardship, and cultural traditions; and 
 
WHEREAS, it is vital to promote understanding, respect, and appreciation of the many tribal 
nations that make up our state’s vibrant cultural landscape, including their role as stewards of 
the environment and advocates for justice and equality; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson encourages all residents to learn more about the history, 
heritage, and contemporary achievements of Native Americans and to support efforts that preserve 
their languages, traditions, and sovereignty. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Juan F. Rodriguez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of 
the City of Tolleson, Arizona, do hereby proclaim November 2025 as Native American Heritage 
Month and call upon all residents to observe this month with programs, ceremonies, and 
activities that honor and celebrate the contributions of Native Americans to our community and
