Domestic Violence Awareness Month  
 
October 2025 
 
WHEREAS, domestic violence is a pervasive issue that affects individuals and families in every 
community, regardless of age, race, gender, or socioeconomic status; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson recognizes that domestic violence is not a private matter, but 
a societal problem that requires community-wide support, awareness, and intervention; and 
 
WHEREAS, October is observed nationally as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, providing 
an opportunity to honor survivors, remember those lost to violence, and recommit to ending 
abuse in all its forms; and 
 
WHEREAS, the 2025 theme, “With Survivors, Always,” underscores the importance of 
standing in unwavering solidarity with survivors of domestic violence, amplifying their voices, and 
ensuring they have access to resources, safety, and justice; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson, in collaboration with community partners, advocates, and 
organizations, continues to promote education, prevention, and support programs to help break 
the cycle of abuse; and 
 
WHEREAS, by working together as a community, we can foster relationships based on 
respect, equality, and compassion, and create a safer Tolleson for all residents. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Juan F. Rodriguez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of 
the City of Tolleson, Arizona, do hereby proclaim October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness 
Month and encourage all residents, businesses, and community organizations to join in efforts
