Hispanic Heritage Month  
 
September 15 – October 15, 2025 
 
WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15 to October 15 
to honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from 
Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America; and 
 
WHEREAS, September 15 is a significant date marking the anniversary of independence for 
Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, followed by Mexico’s 
independence on September 16, and Chile’s independence on September 18; and 
 
WHEREAS, Hispanic Americans have enriched the social, cultural, and economic fabric of our 
nation through their traditions, language, music, food, art, and values, making immeasurable 
contributions to the United States and to the City of Tolleson; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson is proud to celebrate its own vibrant Hispanic community, 
whose heritage and achievements have shaped and continue to shape the spirit, progress, and 
future of our City; and 
 
WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month provides an opportunity for all residents of Tolleson to 
come together to recognize and honor the many ways Hispanic culture has influenced and 
enhanced our shared community. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Juan F. Rodriguez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of 
the City of Tolleson, Arizona, do hereby proclaim September 15 – October 15, 2025 as Hispanic 
Heritage Month and encourage all residents to participate in activities, celebrations, and 
educational events that honor the rich traditions and lasting contributions of Hispanic Americans.
