Tolleson Fire Department MONTHLY REPORT AUGUST 2025 PAGE 1 Operations August Call Volume For August, Engine 161 responded to 186 calls (6 calls per day), and Ladder/LT161 responded to a combined 152 calls (4.9 calls per day). Personnel • FTEs o Firefighters – 16 / 1 vacant o Engineers – 7 / 0 vacant o Captains – 6 / 0 vacant o Battalion Chiefs – 2 / 1 vacant 7 Individuals successfully passed all pre hire requirements and are set to start with us September 3, 2025, and officially start the academy on September 8, 2025. Representatives from Stryker did ride alongs with our crews as continued training for our new LifePak 35 heart monitors. All members have been trained on the new monitors. The new monitors are now in use on all frontline vehicles. PAGE 2 Engineer Kassie Gilman attended the Instructor I course. This course addressed the job performance requirements of the National Fire Protection Association, 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Qualifications. The course prepares participants for planning instruction, using a variety of methods, teaching diverse learners, and evaluating course outcomes. The course also provides guidelines for addressing the critical issues of safety and the legal issues of training, and it provides opportunities to participate in application activities. Deputy Chief Jack Garrison attended the annual Fire Rescue International Conference in Orlando. Chief Garrison was able to choose from more than 100 educational sessions, in-person training, and receive in-person demos of products and services.
