BACKGROUND: The City of Tolleson utilizes Sodium Bisulfite 38% as part of its wastewater treatment processes to meet environmental compliance standards and ensure proper treatment performance. The City issued Invitation for Bids No. WW 25-01 to secure competitive pricing for this chemical. Thatcher Company of Arizona, Inc. submitted a responsive bid and was selected to provide the chemical product based on their qualifications and proposed pricing structure. The agreement reflects the terms outlined in the successful bid. DISCUSSION: The Agreement with Thatcher Company of Arizona, Inc. establishes the following key terms: • The initial term is for one (1) year from the effective date, with the option to renew for up to four (4) additional one-year terms, subject to City approval and annual budget appropriations. • The price is set at $2.07 per gallon of Sodium Bisulfite 38%. • The annual aggregate amount shall not exceed $200,000 per fiscal year. • The Agreement allows for purchases on an as-needed, indefinite quantity basis through City-issued Chemical Orders. • The terms include provisions for product inspection, delivery requirements, warranties, indemnification, and compliance with applicable laws and procurement standards.
