Res 2614 City of Tolleson Fiscal Agent Authorization - Ak-Chin Indian Community Grant for WESTMARC 07 08 25

RESOLUTION NO. 2614 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TOLLESON, 
ARIZONA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE WESTMARC FOUNDATION AND, 
AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF TOLLESON TO ACT AS FISCAL AGENT FOR THE 
WESTMARC FOUNDATION IN CONNECTION WITH THE AK-CHIN INDIAN 
COMMUNITY PROP 202 12% GRANT PROGRAM. 
 
WHEREAS, the Ak-Chin Indian Community, through its Proposition 202 12% Grant 
Program, provides funding to cities, towns, counties, and eligible non-profit organizations to 
support programs and services that benefit the general public, including in areas such as 
education, public safety, health, environment, promotion of commerce, and economic and 
community development; and 
 
WHEREAS, the WESTMARC Foundation is a non-profit organization promoting economic 
development, workforce advancement, and regional collaboration in the West Valley; and 
 
WHEREAS, the WESTMARC Foundation seeks funding through the Ak-Chin Indian 
Community’s Prop 202 12% Grant Program, which requires a governmental entity to act as fiscal 
agent to receive and administer such funds; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson supports the WESTMARC Foundation’s efforts to obtain 
funding for programs benefiting the West Valley region and is willing to act as fiscal agent. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TOLLESON, ARIZONA, as follows:  
 
Section 1.  The recitals above are hereby adopted and incorporated as if fully set forth 
herein. 
 
Section 2.  The City Council hereby approves the submission of a grant application to the 
Ak-Chin Indian Community for the benefit of the WESTMARC Foundation, and if awarded, 
acceptance of the resulting grant with the City acting as fiscal agent. 
 
Section 3.  The Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk, and City Attorney are hereby authorized 
and directed to take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution. 
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Tolleson, Arizona, on this
