West Valley Day 
 
June 23, 2025 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson is proud to be part of the vibrant and growing West Valley region of 
the Phoenix metropolitan area, united by our shared 623 area code; and 
 
WHEREAS, the date of June 23 (6/23) symbolically represents the 623 area code and offers an 
opportunity to celebrate the spirit, identity, and achievements of our West Valley communities; and 
 
WHEREAS, the West Valley is home to thriving businesses, resilient families, and strong community 
institutions working together toward inclusive growth, innovation, and prosperity; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson recognizes the valuable contributions of regional partners who 
collaborate to improve quality of life, expand economic opportunity, and strengthen civic and business 
engagement across the West Valley, including: 
• 
The Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) for driving regional economic development and 
business attraction; 
• 
The Greater Phoenix Equality Chamber of Commerce (GPECC) for fostering diversity and 
inclusion in our business landscape; 
• 
The League of Arizona Cities and Towns for advocating for municipal interests and promoting 
shared governance; 
• 
The Luke West Valley Partners for supporting the mission and community impact of Luke Air 
Force Base; 
• 
The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) for advancing regional planning and 
infrastructure coordination; 
• 
The West Valley Arts Council for enriching the region through arts, culture, and creative 
expression; 
• 
The West Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce for empowering local enterprises and 
connecting community leaders; and 
• 
WestMarc for uniting stakeholders in pursuit of economic vitality and sustainable growth across 
the West Valley; 
 
WHEREAS, these organizations exemplify the power of collaboration in building a stronger, more 
inclusive, and prosperous region for all residents. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Juan F. Rodriguez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City 
of Tolleson, Arizona, do hereby proclaim June 23, 2025, as West Valley Day in the City of Tolleson, and 
encourage all residents, businesses, and community leaders to join in recognizing the partnerships and
