CITY COUNCIL REPORT SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2608 - GPEC Annual Agreement MEETING DATE: June 24, 2025 TO: Mayor and Council FROM: Jason Earp, Development Services Director REVIEWED: Reyes Medrano Jr., City Manager PURPOSE: The Development Services Department is requesting the adoption of Resolution No. 2608, approving the Agreement between the City of Tolleson and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) for FY 2026 relating to the Regional Economic Development Program. BACKGROUND: GPEC is guided by and strategically focused on marketing the region to generate qualified business/industry prospects in targeted economic clusters. DISCUSSION: GPEC concentrates on leveraging public and private allies and resources to locate qualified prospects, improve overall competitiveness and sustain organizational vitality. It's primary role is developing the Greater Phoenix region’s market intelligence strategy for high wage, base industry clusters in coordination with representatives of GPEC member communities. BUDGET IMPACT: The City of Tolleson agrees to pay $4,225 for services to be provided by GPEC to improve the City’s competitiveness and market readiness to support the growth and expansion of targeted industries.
