Resolution No. 2610 - Area Agency on Aging Contract for Services

PURPOSE: 
The Human Services Department is requesting the adoption of Resolution No. 2610, approving the Contract of 
Services, No. 2026-40-TOL, between the City of Tolleson and Area Agency on Aging, Region One, Incorporated 
to provide funding to the City for specified senior services for Fiscal Year 2026. 
 
BACKGROUND: 
The funding provided by AAA is to be used by the City to provide congregate meals, home-delivered meals, 
multipurpose operations and transportation services for senior citizens. With over 50 years of impact, AAA is 
committed to valuing and supporting all people as they age. 
 
DISCUSSION: 
Area Agency on Aging has approved the Tolleson Human Services Department as a contracted provider for FY 
26, offering Senior Center services outlined below: 
 
Congregate Meals: $79,847 
This service enhances participant nutrient intake to prevent or reduce chronic diseases, promote health, and 
improve their nutritional status. 
 
Home Delivered Meals: $37,465 
This service boosts nutrient intake for older adults at nutrition risk, supporting their independence at home. 
 
Multipurpose Center Operations: $12,000 
This service fosters social, emotional, mental, and physical well-being, reducing social isolation and offering 
intergenerational opportunities. 
 
Transportation: $38,866 
This service assists individuals aged 60 and older and/or individuals with disabilities, helping them maintain 
independence and avoid unnecessary placement in care facilities. 
 
BUDGET IMPACT: 
The Contract for Services for Fiscal Year 2026 has a payment ceiling amount of $168,178 for all services. 
 
RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2610.
