LGBTQIA+ Pride Month  
June 2025 
 
WHEREAS, every June, communities across the nation commemorate LGBTQIA+ Pride Month 
to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, a catalyst for the modern LGBTQIA+ rights 
movement; and 
 
WHEREAS, Pride Month serves as a time to celebrate the contributions, resilience, and 
diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community, and to acknowledge the ongoing struggle for equality, 
inclusion, and human rights; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Tolleson recognizes that diversity and inclusion are vital to the strength 
and success of our community, and stands in support of the right of all individuals to live free 
from discrimination, prejudice, and fear; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City affirms its commitment to fostering a welcoming, equitable, and safe 
environment for all residents, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender 
expression; and 
 
WHEREAS, the celebration of Pride Month provides an opportunity to reflect on progress 
made, honor the courage of those who have fought for justice, and renew our dedication to 
building a more inclusive future. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Juan F. Rodriguez, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of 
the City of Tolleson, Arizona, do hereby proclaim June 2025 as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month in the City 
of Tolleson, and encourage all residents to recognize and support the valuable contributions of 
the LGBTQIA+ community, and to promote a culture of equity, dignity, and mutual respect.
