During the month of June, Tolleson Police Drone Pilots conducted 12 drone deployments for a
variety of operations. In addition, the team held a training session on June 29th at the Tolleson
Parks and Recreation Center, covering topics related to barricaded subjects and drone use for
interior building searches.

Highlights and Outreach
Property and Evidence Technicians Kaisa Clark, Eva Tafoya and Support Services Manager
Amanda Howard attended the 30th annual Arizona Association for Property and Evidence
Training Seminar. It was held at the Prescott Resort and Convention Center this year.

On June 10, 2025, the Tolleson Police Department hosted the West Valley Speed and
Aggressive Driving Task Force. This deployment was attended by officers from throughout
the West Valley, and included traffic enforcement officers from Avondale PD, Az DPS, El
Mirage PD, Glendale PD, Peoria PD, Phoenix PD, and Tolleson PD. From 7am to 11am, these
officers patrolled the streets of Tolleson, making contact with drivers who put the motoring
public at risk with their driving behaviors.
During this deployment, the following stats were collected:
• Criminal Speeding Citations – 1
• Civil Speeding Citations – 46
• 20-Day Vehicle Impounds – 4
• Distracted Driving Citations – 15
• Other Citations – 34
• Warning – 21
• TOTAL CONTACTS – 99

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
On June 13th, Tolleson Police Cadet Gabriella Abayev graduated from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Cadet
Training Academy. She spent two weeks training and learning what it takes to be a police officer. Gabby will start her
senior year at Tolleson Union High School later this month. She is a great asset to our Tolleson Police family.

On July 17th, the Tolleson Police Department Mobile Field Force Team was mobilized for the
“Good Trouble Demonstration on 91st Avenue and Interstate 10, however the team was not
deployed due to the demonstration remaining lawful and peaceful.

Highlights and Outreach
Communications Operators Jessica Beard, Yoxira Roman, Stephanie Winfield and
Communications Supervisor Tarah Robertson attended the annual National Emergency
Number Association (NENA) Conference in Long Beach, California. This was a great
opportunity for them to network and connect with fellow communications employees from
all over the United States. NENA is a professional organization that focuses on 9-1-1 policy,
technology, operations, and education issues.

On July 17, the Home Depot Warehouse held an open house for their associates’ families
and invited the Tolleson Police Department. TPD Officers took advantage of some photo
ops and had a little fun playing some basketball.
On July 18, Starbucks Coffee hosted “Coffee with a Cop”
Sponsored by the Tolleson Public Library. It was a great
opportunity for customers to sit down with Tolleson PD
and have a casual conversation. They even tried to steal
away our newest officer, Officer Arellano. We’re glad she
turned down their offer!!!
