Magistrate Contract - John Lamb - January 2024 through January 2028 - AMENDMENT 1

AMENDMENT NUMBER ONE TO THE 
CITY OF TOLLESON MAGISTRATE AGREEMENT
THIS AMENDMENT NUMBER ONE TO THE CITY OF TOLLESON MAGISTRATE AGREEMENT 
(this “Amendment”) is made as of _______________, 2025, between the City of Tolleson, an 
Arizona municipal corporation (the “City”) and John Lamb (the “Presiding Magistrate”), 
(collectively, the “parties”).
RECITALS
A.
The parties previously entered into a Magistrate Agreement (the “Agreement”) 
with the Presiding Magistrate effective January 7, 2025.
B.
The parties desire to amend the Agreement to provide cost of living adjustments 
and sick leave accruals consistent with all other city employees.
AMENDMENTS
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing recitals, which are incorporated 
herein by reference, the following mutual covenants and conditions, and other good and 
valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the City 
and the Presiding Magistrate agree to amend the Agreement as follows (strikethrough removes 
the language from the Agreement and ALL CAPS adds language to the Agreement):

B.
The Presiding Magistrate’s annual compensation shall be $198,505.96. 
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Presiding Magistrate’s compensation may be 
adjusted, from time to time, in the same manner or percentage as the Mayor and 
Council may establish for all the employees of the City, if expressly approved by the 
Mayor and Council.  THE PRESIDING MAGISTRATE SHALL BE ENTITLED TO COST OF 
LIVING ADJUSTMENTS THE SAME AS PROVIDED TO ALL OTHER CITY EMPLOYEES.

Section 4:
Vacation, Sick Leave, and Personal Day
A.Presiding Magistrate shall accrue twelve (12) days of sick leave annually to a 
maximum of 560 hours THE SAME NUMBER of sick leave HOURS THAT ALL OTHER CITY 
EMPLOYEES ARE ELIGIBLE TO ACCRUE AND MAINTAIN. Presiding Magistrate shall accrue 
SIXTEEN (16 ) vacation leave days annually as well as one (1) personal day per year.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement as of the date
