SGC LLC Professional Services Agreement

PURPOSE: 
The Police Department is requesting the approval of the Professional Services Agreement between the City of 
Tolleson and SGC LLC for rifles from Sionics Weapons Systems. 
 
BACKGROUND: 
The Tolleson Police Department needs rifles from one manufacturer and brand, Sionics Weapons Systems, to 
maintain compatibility and uniformity for standard-issued rifles for the department. The current rifles are a mix 
of different manufactures, styles, and operating systems. These differences create obstacles for training, 
maintenance, and interoperability. None of the current rifles are purposely built to meet the needs of the 
department and are between sixteen and twenty years old. The industry standard for replacement is ten years. 
 
DISCUSSION: 
The Tolleson Police Department conducted numerous testing and evaluations on name brand rifle systems. The 
selection criteria were quality, functionality, performance, warranty, customer support, and unit price. Sionics 
Weapons Systems surpassed the other brands tested in all areas. This manufacturer is in Arizona, provides a 
lifetime warranty, can build rifles specifically for the department’s needs, and provides a high-quality product 
at a reasonable price. Nationwide, hundreds of local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies use 
Sionics rifles, including over one dozen agencies in Arizona.  Sionics Weapons System's unparalleled expertise, 
quality, lifetime warranty, and customer service, ensure the rifles will meet the needs of our police department 
and remain in service well into the future. 
 
BUDGET IMPACT: 
The City shall pay the Contractor an aggregate amount not to exceed $125,000 for the equipment and services. 
This Agreement shall remain in full force and effect until February 11, 2026. 
 
RECOMMENDATION: 
Staff recommends the City Council approves the Professional Services Agreement with SGC LLC.
