Staff Summary (background) The purpose of the Council Subcommittee (B) is to review applications, interview applicants (in Executive Session) and provide a recommendation to the Mayor for possible appointment to fill vacancies based upon the applicants' skills, experience, and background as required under Section 9.4. of the Council Rules of Procedure. Pursuant to Council Rules of Procedure, Section 9.2(A), a call for applications was issued in March 2026 to fill two vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Town received six applications; however, only three applicants were available for interviews. In addition, two incumbent Commissioners—Nick Proctor and Scott Schlossberg — submitted requests for reappointment as their current terms are set to expire at the end of April 2026. In accordance with Council Rules of Procedure, Sections 9.2(F) and (G), Subcommittee B conducted an interview with the available applicants and interviewed the two incumbents that requested reappointment. At its meeting on March 31, 2026, Subcommittee B completed its review and provided recommendations to the Mayor.
