Discussion and Update on Tourism and Wasatch Media Marketing Steve Boyle, Community Development Director, reported that the marketing by Wasatch Media has been boosted with local funding by $30,000 to market to the valley. This will include ads and short videos on social media platforms. The packet included marketing reports for November and December for the other funding, that is grant funded, and must be used mostly outside of Maricopa County. Member Hamilton asked about geo fencing. Director Boyle stated that he is learning about that as that is part of the grant for the data information, but Wasatch will provide some of that information. The key is to get information from people who are actually coming into town not just those driving through or just stopping for fast food or a bathroom. The goal is to increase the scope of the geo fencing to include more of the town. 6. Discussion and Update on the Airport Development Advisory Committee Member Froeter reported that the Airport Development Advisory Committee held their first meeting yesterday and includes a good group of people with lots of different areas of knowledge. Their next meeting will be a tour of the airport. They will be working with the developer to mold the development into a good proposal for Wickenburg and include public meetings. Director Boyle stated that the committee is analyzing the need in the community at the airport as well as engage with the community to get their feedback. They need to figure out how to develop the airport, not just by following the Airport Master Plan, but by working with the developer to determine what will work for Wickenburg. There was the town’s airport consultant company who explained the plan for the airport. There is also another consultant who will help negotiate the development agreement. The negotiation of the development agreement is outside the purview of this committee. Economic Development and Transportation Committee Minutes of January 14, 2026 Page 3 of 3 7. Discussion and Update Regarding Local Workforce Development Director Boyle stated that the town and chair are working with a couple of outside agencies after the cancellation of the contract with Maricopa County for workforce development. The Chamber of Commerce can provide help for the businesses and AllThrive365 can help employees. The town is working with both agencies to see what can be done. In addition, the town has improved the economic development website. 8. Discussion and Update on the Transportation Master Plan Director Boyle stated that the town is conducting a Transportation Master Plan of the town with the help of the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG). This will be the first master plan for transportation for the town. The kick off meeting for this project will be next week with MAG, the consultants and the town staff as MAG is completing their studies of 74 and 60. There will be public outreach as part of the plan as they will look at traffic and transportation. This will include a classification of the road, design criteria, and whether the town needs more thoroughfares. Michael Baker International was the selected consultant. E.
