AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
WICKENBURG, COUNTY OF MARICOPA, STATE OF ARIZONA, EXTENDING AND
INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF WICKENBURG,
MARICOPA COUNTY, STATE OF ARIZONA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF
TITLE 9, CHAPTER 4, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES AND AMENDMENTS
THERETO BY ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO THE EXISTING
TOWN LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF WICKENBURG
WHEREAS, on MARCH 12, 2004, in order to initiate this annexation, the Town filed in
the Office of the Maricopa County Recorder a blank petition setting forth a description and an accurate
map of the exterior boundaries of territory contiguous to the Town and which is proposed to be annexed
into the Town; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing to consider the proposed annexation was noticed as
required by ARS §9-471A.3 and the public hearing was held on APRIL 5, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, at least thirty (30) days have elapsed since the filing of the blank petition with
Maricopa County Recorder's Office; and,
WHEREAS, it was determined that the property described on the blank petition and
hereinafter described is under the current jurisdiction of Maricopa County; and,
WHEREAS, the annexation was initiated by one of the property owners in the territory
hereinafter described; and,
WHEREAS, the said initiating petition sets forth a true and correct description of all the
exterior boundaries of the entire area proposed to be annexed to the Town of Wickenburg, and had
attached thereto at all times an accurate map of the territory desired to be annexed; and,
WHEREAS, there is no State land located within the boundaries of the territory
hereinafter described and proposed for annexation; and,
WHEREAS, a Petition has been presented in writing to the Mayor and Council of the
Town of Wickenburg, Arizona, signed by the owners of more than one-half in value of the real and
personal property as would be subject to taxation by the Town in the event of annexation within the
territory and land hereinafter described as shown by the last assessment of said property, which said
territory is contiguous to the Town, and not now embraced within its limits, asking that the property
more particularly hereinafter described be annexed to the Town of Wickenburg, and to extend and
increase the corporate limits of the Town so as to embrace the same; and,
WHEREAS, no alterations increasing or decreasing the territory sought to be annexed
have been made subsequent to the signing of said petition by any owner of real and personal property in
such territory; and,
- WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Wickenburg, Arizona are desirous of
extending and increasing the corporate limits of the Town of Wickenburg to include said territory; and,

WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that the annexation of the parcels
described below is a rational and desirable extension of the corporate limits; and,
WHEREAS, proper and sufficient certification and proof of the foregoing facts are now on
file in the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Wickenburg, Arizona, together with the petition
referred to herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF WICKENBURG, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be, and the same is, annexed
to the Town of Wickenburg, and that the present corporate limits be, and the same hereby are, extended
and increased to include the following described territory contiguous to the present Town limits, to wit:
Parcels of land being portions of Sections 12, 13 and 14, T 7 N, R 5 W of the Gila and Salt River Base
and Meridian, Maricopa County, Arizona, more particularly described as follows: All of the south half
of the south half of said section 12 not presently in the Town of Wickenburg. The north half of the
north half of said Section 13. The southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 13. The
southwest quarter of the northeast quarter of said Section 13. The northeast quarter of the southwest
quarter of said Section 13. The northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of said Section 14.
SECTION 2. The zoning classification of Maricopa County Zone Rural-43 is
hereby changed to the most comparable Town zoning classification, which is R1-35 Single Family
Residential District.
SECTION 3. That a copy of this ordinance, together with an accurate map of the
territory hereby annexed to the Town of Wickenburg, certified by the Mayor of said Town, be forthwith
filed and recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Maricopa County, Arizona.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF WICKENBURG, ARIZONA:
We, the undersigned, owners of the real and personal property, being the real property
hereinafter described and all personal property that we may own in the area sought to be
annexed, request the Town of Wickenburg to annex our property, said property being
located in a territory contiguous to the Town of Wickenburg and being located within the
following described area:

The Town Council may determine the exact boundary of said territory to be annexed;
provided, however, that said annexed area lies wholly within the above-described area
and, provided further, that the provisions of Section §9-471, Arizona Revised Statutes,
are fully observed and complied with.
