PROPOSED CHANGES TO FEE SCHEDULE Amy Brown, Town Clerk March 3, 2025 FEE SCHEDULE • On June 16, 2014, the Town Council approved Ordinance No. 1140, authorizing the Council to set fees annually by resolution for Town services and use of facilities • Annually Council sets a new Fee Schedule through the Budget Process • Department Directors and Staff review all fees each year and present changes to Council for consideration NEW FEES • Court Deferred Sentence Fee – for cost to monitor for a year • Research Court Case – Without case number if over 15 minutes • Birthday Pool Parties – Flat rate for 2 hours • Police – Industry standard is an additional $15 for extra duty if not schedule 24 hours in advance • Police – Industry standard is to pay time and a half for federally observed holidays for extra duty • Police – Industry standard is to require a supervisor is 4 or more officers requested for extra duty • Police – Cancellation fee if less than 24 hours notice DELETION OF FEES • Sold Materials at the Library will now be done solely by the Friends of the Library with staff no longer collecting their money – Reviewed and approved by Community Programming Committee • 1 month library card due to costs to issue card is cost prohibitive • Hourly rate at the Rodeo Grounds – never used as setup takes time so always rented for half a day or full day • Service fee for staff work for non-profit events – Still pay employees and usually pay OT amount – Non-profits will still receive 50% discount on rental rates and local youth sports organizations receive waived athletic field rentals CHANGES TO EXISTING FEES • Increase in missing or damaged items at the library due to increase in cost to replace • Added verbiage for clarification “Missing Materials Jacket” and “Private Pool Rental Fees” • Combined 1 year library card as same cost for adult and child – Offer 6-month card for $15 and 1-year for $30 for non-Maricopa, non-TOW residents - Reviewed and approved by Community Programming Committee • Fire Rider increase to match AMR contract • Police Extra Duty to new industry standard for Officer, Sergeant and LT NOTICE OF INTENT – NEXT STEPS • As required by A.R.S. § 9-499.15, the Town will post a notice of intent to change our fee schedule and have it posted on our Town website for the required 60-days • On May 19th, these changes will come back with a resolution to approve the schedule after the required 60-day notice • If approved, the Fee Schedule will become effective July 1st • If all the changes are approved tonight, then at this point fees can only be reduced from the proposed amount – They can’t be increased.
