t.c— ELIGOPTERS AE= HELICOPTER BUSINESS HANGAR PROPOSAL FOR WICKENBURG, AZ Ace Helicopters, based out of Colfax, Wisconsin, is looking to expand their services to the Wickenburg, Arizona area. Ace Helicopters is a father-and-son owned business, with over 20 years of business experience and a perfect safety record. Ace Helicopters provides beginning to advanced flight training, sightseeing, aerial photography, sling loading (for firefighting), agriculture spraying applications (crop dusting), police/S.W.A.T. operations, search and rescue, aerial burial, helicopter maintenance, as well as serving as a Robinson Helicopter Dealer. Ace Helicopters would like to build a 70’ x 70’ hangar on the southeast side of the airport. Building this hangar will provide storage for helicopters and a hub for tourists and locals to take a helicopter ride and see all the beauty that Wickenburg and the surrounding areas have to offer. This includes historical landmarks such as Vulture Peak and Yarnell, where 19 firefighters lost their lives. Aerial photography would also be available for purchase to capture the breathtaking scenery of the area. Ace Helicopters has been in contact with the Wickenburg Police Department to explore the creation of a Helicopter Police Unit to serve the area, as well as the four nearest counties, due to the lack of an existing unit within that radius. The proposed hangar would provide additional storage for a Wickenburg police helicopter. Ace Helicopters brings experience in police/S.W.A.T. operations and can provide training to personnel. This expansion would enhance public safety and create new job opportunities within the community.
