TOWN OF WICKENBURG Sunset & Sunrise Parks Review Todd Wallace October 20, 2025 • As part of the 2024 Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Town Council approved enhancements to Sunset park and the creation of a new park currently named Sunrise Park • $650,000 was budgeted in FY26 for design • Willmeng Construction and Dig Studio can develop 60% design documents of the Sunset Park ball field and 30% design documents of the Sunrise Park multipurpose fields for a total of $646,151 • We anticipate additional costs of approximately $500,000 for 100% design documents, as well as $2.5 – $3 million for the construction of Sunset Park Ball field and $8 – $10 million for the construction of Sunrise Park multipurpose fields Background 2 • Alternative Scope o Three multi-purpose fields o Restrooms o Food truck lot w/electrical o Dog park o One entrance from Hwy 60 o Ability for future expansion 3 New Park Design Dog Park • Ball Field • Ramada & Picnic Area • Parking 4 Sunset Park Additions • Moving forward with partial designs for both parks will allow us to more accurately budget for their final design and construction • While a portion of the design costs have been approved by Council for FY26, the project may warrant review due to the Town’s preliminary first quarter revenue collections • The Town Manager believes it may be prudent to wait until after the first of the year to reassess the Town’s revenue collections, before approving the execution of this contract 5 Considerations • I move to approve authorizing the Town Manager to execute an agreement with Willmeng Construction for the 60% design of Sunset and 30% design of Sunrise parks in the amount of $646,151. • I move to delay authorizing the Town Manager to execute an agreement with Willmeng Construction for the 60% design of Sunset and 30% design of Sunrise parks in the amount of $646,151 until after January 1, 2026. 6 Suggested Motions Questions? 7
