PROCLAMATION

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

WHEREAS, domestic violence is a serious issue that affects individuals and
families in every community, regardless of age, gender, race, or economic status, and

WHEREAS, nearly one in four women and one in nine men will experience severe
physical violence, sexual violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime, and
countless others are impacted as children, families, and communities, and

WHEREAS, the Town of Wickenburg recognizes the importance of raising
awareness, supporting survivors, holding offenders accountable, and working together to
break the cycle of abuse, and

WHEREAS, community organizations, advocates, and concerned citizens in
Wickenburg and across Arizona are committed to providing education, prevention,
intervention, and support services to those affected by domestic violence, and

WHEREAS, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we join with individuals
and organizations nationwide in reaffirming our commitment to ending domestic violence
and promoting safe, healthy relationships in our community.

NOW, THEREFORE, |, BG Bratcher, Mayor of the Town of Wickenburg, Arizona, do
hereby proclaim the month of October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in
Wickenburg and urge all residents to participate in efforts to raise awareness, support
victims, and work toward a future free from domestic violence.
