What does it take to run 
for Town Council?
Requirements to run for Mayor or Council:
Eligible and registered to vote in the Town
A resident of the town or an annexed area for at least one year
immediately preceding the election
Hold no other elected public office
Able to speak, write, and read the English language

Time Involved
Four-Year Term - Three (3) Council seats elected in 2026
Regular Council meetings are 1st and 3rd Mondays (unless holiday, then
Tuesday) of most months at 5:30 PM
Special Meetings - Budget, Retreat, etc.
Most are also Council liaisons on a town committee
Involvement in state, county, League of Arizona Cities and Towns, Maricopa
Association of Governments (MAG), etc. committees, conferences and issues.

If you meet the requirements and are interested in
running for a seat on the Wickenburg Town Council,
contact the Town of Wickenburg Clerk's office to make
an appointment to review the candidate packet. You will
need to turn in paperwork including a minimum of 147
valid signatures by April 6, 2026.
