TOWN OF WICKENBURG
GENASYS PROTECT ALERTING
Battalion Chief Tony Christofferson
12/1/2025

• System that develops evacuation
zones for the TOW
• Zones are established based on
ingress/egress/total population
• Provides alerting platform to push
out critical information to the public
2
What is Genasys Protect Alerts

• Civic Alert (current platform) is not meeting the needs of the TOW and it’s
citizens by not adequately providing up-to-date critical information and
keeping the public informed
• Assembled study group from every TOW department director involved in
alerts to find a better communication platform
Advantages of Genasys platform:
• Provides real-time information directly from public safety to the community
(road closures, emergency evacuations, and community events)
• Anyone can access Genasys without having to sign-up to get information
Why are we changing alerting systems?
