MAYOR & COUNCILMEMBERS REPORT ON CURRENT EVENTS Councilmember Art Rubash reported that the youth soccer season was wrapping up and there is now a fundraiser for youth basketball. In addition, there was a fundraiser for the Salt Project along with K9 Konnection. Councilmember BG Bratcher attended the Love our Schools Days and thanked the teachers for their work. She also thanked the Parks and Trails Committee for their work on the Tour de Ranch event this past Saturday. She thanked Herschel Town Council Minutes of November 6, 2023 Page 4 of 19 c. Consideration and Action to Approve a Cooperative Purchasing Contract with Lenco Industries for a Rescue Vehicle according to terms and conditions of the GSA Federal Acquisition Service GS-07F-169DA Les Brown, Police Chief, reported in his Council routing form that the Wickenburg Police Department received funding from the State of Arizona in May 2023, for equipment and training needs. One of the specific items requested and approved was a new rescue vehicle. The current vehicle the department uses is over 40 years old and is on loan from the federal government. Due to age, wear and tear, the vehicle is in need of replacement. The standard vehicle in use nationwide is the Lenco Bearcat. This vehicle allows for the safety and protection of citizens and our first responders, including fire personnel, medical, and officers. Lenco is on GSA contract for these units. Once approved, the new vehicle will be ordered with an approximate 10-12 month build time. By a 6-0 vote under the Consent Agenda, Council moved to approve a Cooperative Purchasing Contract with Lenco Industries for a Rescue Vehicle according to terms and conditions of the GSA Federal Acquisition Service GS-07F-169DA and authorize the Mayor to execute the contract. Consideration and Action on Resolution No. 2339, Adopting the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Consolidated Fee Schedule for Facility Rental Fees Tim Suan, Deputy Town Manager, reported in his Council routing form that At the Council meeting on September 5, 2023, staff presented changes to the 2023-24 Consolidated Fee Schedule for Facility Rental fees. As required by A.R.S. § 9-499.15, the Town gave a 60-days notice that it may adopt the 2023-24 Consolidated Fee Schedule and posted the proposed consolidated fee schedule on the Town’s website. Attached for the Council's consideration is Resolution No. 2339, which adopts the changes to the 2023-24 Consolidated Fee Schedule for facility rental fees. If approved, the Fee Schedule will become effective December 6, 2023. Councilmember Rovey wanted to discuss a room at the airport that has been locked and she thought on the fee schedule. Town Manager Erno stated that that is not one of the fees that are being changed tonight, so that can be looked at during a different meeting.
